Flickr API to slow – shut down for free accommodations

We had in the map search the flickr api installed. This was presenting images from the flickr community website to each city you are looking for. It was not that easy to install this into our map search for free home stays. It was a really nice feature.

But the performance of the API is to slow. Belodged.com – and so you – were waiting too long for getting the flickr informations.

But last week we just added the “gallerie feature”. User can upload there images into galleries. For every gallerie the user can attach an associated country. So – as far we have enough galleries – we will connect the galleries of the user within the map search. So you will again see photos from the location you are searching for. These photos will be only from the belodged.com community.

Simultaneously we go on with our strong privacy settings. You will have the choice on who will have access on this settings and so on…

Second step: Why should you add or update a photo or status message more than once?

Third step: We check out the possibilities to build up some small applications for facebook etc. So you will be able to check out some features of belodged.com directly from your main community website. But for this we will also have a deep look into the agreements of facebook & co to take care of your privacy on belodged.com

One is for sure: We will never sell any privat data!
